Thanks for your interest and apologies for the lack of work here if you were looking to dig in… I’m a strong believer that the best work are the ones we have yet to ideate and execute on and by the time we update sites… it’ll already be outdated with how fast we move.

If you are interested in past examples please let me know happy to dig up a few examples to share or you can head over to where we’ve executed some of our most recent work on the Duolingo socials.

Currently open to speaking engagements industry judging and board opportunities.

Dzięki!
- James

Q: Is it true your parents came here from Poland over 30 years ago and you grew up in one of the most dangerous city in 'Merica?
A: Yup. Also thankfully that means I can work in Europe with my EU citizenship.

Q: Did you enjoy going getting your Bachelors degree at the School of Visual Arts and all the sleepless nights that came along with it?
A: Something like that, it paid off immensely. There's a special place in my heart for the school.

Q: Where have you recently spent your time creating ideas and building teams?
A: I’ve been with Duolingo now since the first day of pandemic lockdown began- and it’s a been a wild unforgettable way to jump back to brand-side.

Q: Are you happy with what you've accomplished so far in your career?
A: Thankfully yes, and forever grateful for my career trajectory and all the work that was put in earlier on. While I haven’t accomplished all of my goals still I keep adding new goals to the list that keep pushing myself further. Currently I’m focused on building out the most recognized, poached after brand team there is while building the next iconic brand.

Q: What do you do when you're not in the office?
A: I've always been proactive when it comes to other opportunities, I wrapped up teaching undergraduate classes at SVA for 6 years, and am looking for new ways to give back to emerging talent community. I also find myself traveling any free moment I can get and taking in alllll of the foods.

Q: Do you have a favorite food?
A: Yes.

Q: What are you currently up to?
A: After spending a decade in the agency setting at creative-first BBDO NY, and media-first VaynerMedia, I’ve found myself right at home at Duolingo building a truly social-first brand along some of the brightest minds. I've picked up on a lot of insights and inner workings of both start-up brand, creative and media agency learnings I'll take with with me wherever I may go next.

Q: Why did you to do this in Q&A format?
A: Writing in third-person is awkward.

Q: Anything else we should know?
A: I enjoy geeking out about A.I. & how it intersects with creativity and finding the rightr balance of scale, innovation and respect- it’s been the latest challenging endeavor.
